Read this at your own risk. Spoilers ahead.Meet the worst heroes ever. David Ayer’s, Suicide Squad has been released today in cinemas. With its exquisite marketing schemes in a vivid hue, the movie has raised the anticipation to the paramount. After the harsh reviews of Batman V/S Superman – The Dawn of Justice, DC fans are desperately wishing Suicide Squad to be a huge satisfaction. Well, sorry to say, but the movie did have some shortcomings, which I would hate to mention. Personally, I loved the movie. The chaos was blended in such a beautiful myriad; the frolicsome essence of the characters and a perfect concoction of humor will keep you tied till the end. Speaking of its exquisitiveness and the shortcomings, I have characterized the review in three parts, namely, the good (which is actually perfect), the bad (flaws), and the ugly (what I loathed). So, let’s proceed (with caution) with the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
What is Suicide Squad about?
It feels good to be bad.Suicide Squad is the agglomeration of the wicked villains trapped in a facility in Louisiana. Imagine all the ‘bad-dest’ of villains gathered together to accomplish a mission which can actually make the world a better place. Where these monstrous psychopaths are provided with the most powerful arsenal which is obviously, at government’s disposal. Then, they are sent off on an inexplicable mission.Honestly, I find it difficult to point out the flaws, which I have to (really?). Okay, first things first. Let’s begin with the tip-top things first, puddin
Personally, I believe, Will Smith is the perfect choice for the role of Deadshot. Keeping in mind, the role of a true father and a perfect eagle’s eye, Will Smith as Deadshot has given the ultimate justice to the one in comics
Harley, Harley! I loved her to the core. And yes, she is the best part of the entire chaos. She loves puddin’ and calls the Joker, too, by this name. Her ferocity, alacrity, and hardcore maniac psychopathy will make you swoon, guaranteed. Margot Robbie has undoubtedly raised the bar after The Wolf of the Wall Street. The Duchess is the new ‘sassy-ly’ sexy.
Harley Quinn and Joker’s Chemistry
These two are ultimate relationship goals. Joker would do anything to save Harley at any costs. And, Harley, she is just head over heels on his puddin’. These clowns’ chemistry will make you ship them. Just be aware, not to mess with the Queen of Gotham’s King. Or else, you know what the Joker says,”I’m not gonna kill ya. I’m just gonna hurt ya, really, really, bad.
The soundtracks are mesmerizing. ‘Heathens’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, and ‘You Don’t Own Me’, are worth getting addicted to. (An honest confession: I was murmuring ‘Heathens’ all the time while typing this review.)
Deadshot (Will Smith) and Diablo (Jay Hernandez) were one of the vital moral compasses in the story. Diablo has a very abominable past. Yet, they struggle to follow the path of humanity. Trailers didn’t showcase much of Hernandez’s knack. He was a real surprise.Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s role of Killer croc is way too abrasive and humorous than expected. But, I got to admit, the CGI processes done on him are way too magnificently realistic throughout the film. Karen Fukuhara as Katana did an exceptional job, yet she didn’t get a lot of scenes. The role of Rick Flag was firstly offered to Tom Hardy, but, lately, it was offered to Joel Kinnaman. By the way, Jai Courtney (Boomerang) is way too doppelgang-y to Tom Hardy. The accent, the way he carries himself, almost everything seems so much like Hardy.Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress gave an ultimate justice to the comic books. Delevingne is (no pun intended) spellbinding as the unearthly character, with inhuman movements like something from a horror film.
The role of the Joker was played by Jared Leto. Well, it’s a little tough for me to compare him with Heath, but Leto could have done it much better. I wanted to add this point in the ‘Ugly’ category, but let’s face it. Joker was showcased for such a low period in the movie and the anticipation of his portrayal was quite high. However, I was a little disappointed. Yet, I pay utmost request to his backbreaking work. Yes, he was sassy and insane and believe me, it takes a huge amount of insanity and grit, to play a role so onerously paranoid. Now, let’s come to the bad, bad things about the movie.
Now, here comes what I loathed the most — the climax. It was strong and weak at the same time. Well, I took the right decision, not to expect much from the closing scenes, so as to be less disappointed. And believe me, it worked. I won’t elaborate on what the scene was, so as to save you from the ultimate spoiler, but, please it’s a humble request, be seated after the credits! So, this was the ugliest part of the movie. David Ayer did an exceptional job and proved what he is worth. I recommend you to watch this movie. Don’t believe the critics, especially if you are a hardcore DC fan. You’ll enjoy every second of the movie.Wittyfeed’s Rating: 4.0 stars out of 5If you are copying this content, make sure you give proper courtesy.
