Child Marriage, the most common issue around the world needs to be addressed. This issue is not only violating human rights but also affecting the lives and health of girls. The early pregnancy increases the complications in the child’s birth which may also lead to deaths.
The recent incident which took place in Yemen where an 8-year-old toddler died on her wedding night after being sexually abused by her husband.
It’s high time when the issue should be checked by imposing stringent laws and creating awareness among the people by educating them about the consequences of early marriage.

Recently, an 8-year-old girl died on her wedding night.
She died because she was sexually abused by her husband, who is five times of her age. She suffered internal injuries as she was forced to have sex.
She died in the tribal areas of Hardh, in northwestern Yemen. It shows and brings more attention to the problem which is already existing in the Middle East.
United Nations Population Fund has predicted that between 2011-20, more than 140 million girls will become child brides and out of them, more than 50 million will be less than 15 years of age.
Most of the organizations have agreed that 18 should be the minimum age for a girl to get married.
In Feb 2009, a law was passed in Yemen that set the minimum age for marriage is 17 years.
